My Plum Tree

In our backyard we've got this plum tree we've been waiting to ripen since we got here. Now that it's finally plum season our tree is bursting at the seams with plums. Our landlords have already taken some for themselves, and I picked some and a friend came by and picked some plums as well.

So now I have all these plums and have to decide quickly what to do with them. I have planned to make Plum Bread (actually I made that last night. Post to follow), and jam so far. Then use some for more baby food. I made a baby food recipe a bit back with plums apples and blueberries that sort of came out as a thick delicious sauce. It doubles as baby food or can be used in desserts. I might have to make some more.

I sent Pete out to buy jars for the jam yesterday while I baked the plum bread, and as I sit here typing they sit right in front of me. So wonderful to think they'll be hopefully full of good plum jam soon. I say hopefully, because last time I made jam although it tasted great, the jam went bad on us and I was so disappointed. I told myself I would try again but had not since. This time I'm hoping it will work out. I found a little plum jam recipe without pectin and seems pretty easy actually. I'll post once it's done, and let you know if it worked out or if it was an epic fail.

Well here are more pictures of our plums. Enjoy!

Thanks for reading.
