A Beautiful Day
What a beautiful day it was today. I think the temperature got to 16 degrees. It was warm, sunny, and I had it all planned out to go out with the family, but of course life happens, people need us, and things need to get done.
My wonderful little sister is taking a little trip tomorrow actually and she needed help installing a car stereo so that she doesn't get bored and drive off the road, or worse yet fall asleep. So my lovely husband offered to help. Not a problem, but our plans for the day got postponed to another weekend. So with this all happening I decided to take advantage of the fact that my husband had a project and I've been dying to start on my ottoman project, so today my friends was the day.
I stopped off to get some tools to get started and got myself all set-up. I have to say it was quite easy (besides the waiting time) to paint the black. I bought a can of black high gloss spray paint (recommended by the paint expert), and went at it. I did 2 coats and some touch up 3rd coats on a couple areas. I have still to apply the extra high gloss lacquerer-ed layer to give it some extra depth to the base of the ottoman, but that will be, hopefully, tomorrows project.
I am super excited to have got moving on this project and see an end coming. Especially since after this it's just the upholstering (which I can't decide my feelings on; nervous, terrified, excited, unsure). Well enjoy step 2 of my ottoman project (step one was getting the ottoman, just in case you missed that - hahahaa...)

Woohoo!!!
Hope you enjoyed. Will post once the upholstery has been completed. Zebra print here we come.
