Classic Margherita Pizza
So this pizza is so easy to make. It takes about 10 minutes I'd say to prep plus cooking time. About another 10 minutes depending on the type of base you use. It tastes really good, and for the taste, there's very little work. If you need to whip something up quick for last minute guests or family this is it.
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- Pizza base mix OR ready made pizza crust from the bakery (my choice when making this because I didn't have time to make a base from a mix or scratch)
- Classico Basil and tomato sauce (or any other basil and tomato type sauce)
- Pizza Mozzarella sliced (roughly 5 oz.)
- Olive oil (about 1 tbsp)
- Rock salt & Ground pepper
- Oregano
- Fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
1. Use about 1 tbsp of olive oil and cover the pizza base. Add a little olive oil to the crust as well & sprinkle lightly with rock salt. You don't have to do this but I found it made the crust taste extra good.
2. Spread the basil and tomato sauce across the base of the pizza.
3. Arrange the pizza mozzarella on top of the pizza. Add as much or as little as you'd like, but don't over do it too much.
4. Sprinkle Oregano, salt and pepper over the pizza.
5. Place on a pizza tray and bake according to the pizza base instructions. Usually about 10-15 minutes for ready made.
6. When the pizza is cooked remove from oven and place basil leaves on the pizza. Press in a little so as to have them stick to the pizza.
Enjoy!
As you will see on mine in the pictures above we also ended up adding some cooked ground beef the second time around as the last step before cooking. We added just a light amount and it was a great balance. Any more and it would've taken away from the flavor.
Yum, yum!!!
