A New Start
So we moved. We have made it from Vancouver to Kamloops and have now been here for 2 days. It's been great, although I am super sick and even with extra cold medicine it doesn't seem to totally help. I probably should be sleeping right now (that would help), but I feel like I should tend to my blog so as to not let it go astray. I want to be diligent and really I haven't written the last little bit too much.
As I unpack I am getting excited to finish projects, work on some tutorials, and hopefully have enough to sell at a local farmers market. I'm trying to focus on my card making, baby blankets, and coasters. I know a little of a mix, but I figure I will start with what I can do right now and work my way to a more rounded focused group of items. As I have more I will also update my Etsy page with more items, and I'd like to freshen up my Etsy page and try and reach my goals with that.
My biggest goal is to be able to make enough each week to make it worth my staying home. I would love to be able to just be creative, and spend time with my son. What greater joy.
I went to the local farmers market today to check it out and it was great. It was a little smaller than I anticipated but still not bad. I found some little vendors I really liked, and checked out potential future 'competition', and how other vendors set up their booths. It was a good opportunity to also feel out the market and see the types of people attending. Always good to know the market you'll be selling to.
I bought a little headband, some Cinnamon Honey, and Pete bought a little stuffed animal for Kylun (which we later found out was supposed to be a replica of a bacteria - still cute though), and enjoyed some freshly squeezed lemonade. Our friends came with us and then we headed for lunch.
The rest of the afternoon Pete and I ran a few non-errand errands (basically just went where we pleased just because, not because we had to), which included Jysk to get a shower curtain, and floor mat, and Bath & Body Works for some hand soap and bathroom scented candles (not smelling like bathroom, but to help make our bathroom smell good - I know how some of you read it).
We finished our day off with a BBQ and a friendly game of poker. I can never remember how to play, and I spent the whole game asking if it was my turn or just putting in chips because I had them (so why not).
It was a great day, and one of the first in I'd say a year where we have just enjoyed the day and not had any real plans. It was wonderful. Like a vacation.
Well thanks for reading. I will post soon with more updates, tutorials, and adventures.

Hi Liz! Glad to hear that you guys are in Kamloops and checking things out. That's so neat that you are going to try and get your own booth at the Farmer's Market and have goals that you want to achieve. Looking forward to reading more.. :) -Laura
