Collette Patterns
So, I am moving on to my next fashion culprit. Collette Patterns!
I have been following a few blogs, however one I've been following is Aprons & Apples. This last week Kristy posted about a free pattern for bloomers. Super cute too.
I am dying to try and make them although I have a long list of projects I want to do or are in the middle of. For example; my ottoman which is taking longer than anticipated because I realized after removing the fabric (which took forever because I could barely find the time, and it was stapled so many times it was impossible), has to now be re sprayed to touch up all the areas I damaged while trying to remove the fabric. I had planned on just covering on top of the piping which runs along the bottom of the ottoman but was given strong advice about doing that when I went to the fabric store to pick up the fabric, and trim.
I was told to remove all the piping or the staples would not work as well (good point), and the trim may be all wonky due to an uneven surface (another good point). Well although good advice, I wish I had thought through it before I got so excited I painted it, but I guess that's how you learn and next time I won't make this mistake. And yes, there will be a next time as I think once it's completed I will be addicted to upholstering and redoing furniture.
Anyway this is NOT about my ottoman that may be the death of me, but about bloomers. The cutest little things you've ever seen.
Here are some pictures....
Aren't the little black ribbons just adorable? I cannot wait to one day hopefully make them.
I found pictures of how some other peoples bloomers turned out. If you want some inspiration.
However this isn't where it ends. The website the pattern is originally from is called Collette Patterns. They have some great items to make.
Here are my top picks...
For all you sewers out there, if you're looking for some sewing tips, and technique advice this website also has a blog dedicated to giving tips and helpful advice.
Also check out the free pattern for the Sorbetto Top.
Hope you enjoyed.
